The Angel are pleased to announce our Beer Festival will again be returning this Easter, from Friday 2nd - Monday 5th April 2010. Details on the beers available are now available and can be found below along with their tasting notes. If you're planning on visiting us, make sure you get here early, last Easter we completely sold out by Monday afternoon!

The Beers
- Farmers Drop of Nelson Blood 3.8% ABV (Maldon, Essex)
Red-brown session bitter, initially quite sweet and fruity with a bite to the aftertaste. - Elmtree Burston's Cuckoo 3.8 % ABV (Snetterton, Norfolk)
A nasal feast of floral hops with a hint of citrus and a refreshingly long dry finish. - Fox LJB 4.0% ABV (Heacham, Norfolk)
Mid-brown malty brew with a hoppy bitter background. Sultana-like fruitness at the finish. - Ilkley Best 4.0% ABV (Ilkley, Yorkshire)
A hoppy and spicy traditional Yorkshire bitter. - Clarks Michael Caine 4.0% ABV (Wakefield, West Yorkshire)
A tawny coloured beer, with a malt aroma and a satisfying bitter finish. - Farmers Pucks Folly 4.2% ABV (Maldon, Essex)
Pale golden ale, biscuity malt in the taste fades and the finish is dominated by bitterness. - Green Jack Orange Wheat 4.2% ABV (Lowestoft, Suffolk)
Golden in colour, slightly bitter on the tongue with a strong fruit flavour. - Oakham White Dwarf 4.3% ABV (Peterborough, Cambridgeshire)
A speciality beer with fruit and hops on the aroma and in the taste. - Rudgate Ruby Mild 4.4% ABV (York)
Nutty rich ruby ale, Champion Beer of Britain 2009. - Big Lamp Summerhill Stout 4.4% ABV (Newcastle)
A rich tasty stout, dark in colour with a lasting rich roast character. Malty lingering finish. - Magpie Thieving Rogue 4.5% ABV (Nottingham)
Golden beer, silky smooth with a hint of bitterness. - Farmers Edward Brights Stout 4.5% ABV (Maldon, Essex)
A robust stout brewed using chocolate malt to give a rich flavour. - Oakham Bishops Farewell 4.6% ABV (Peterborough, Cambridgeshire)
Citrus and grassy hops on the nose of this golden ale, intense dry hoppy aftertaste. - Clarks Rams Revenge 4.6% ABV (Wakefield, West Yorkshire)
A rich ruby, dark copper coloured ale, fruity taste and a smooth dry finish. - Cathedral Remigius 4.7% ABV (Lincoln)
Light golden imperial ale full bodied with a crisp bitter hop finish. - Thorne Vermuyden Ale 4.7% ABV (Thorne, South Yorkshire)
Well hopped pale ale. Citrus and grapefruit flavours give way to a clean bitter finish. - Fox Grizzly Beer 4.8% ABV (Heacham, Norfolk)
Honey wheat beer brewed from an American recipe. - Fullers Bengal Lancer 5.0% ABV (London)
A refreshing IPA style beer, pale amber in colour, which is distinctly hoppy. - Cottage Normans Conquest 5.0% ABV (Lovington, Somerset)
A dark strong ale with plenty of fruit in the aroma and taste, rounded vinous, hoppy finish. - Elmtree Golden Pale Ale 5.0% ABV (Snetterton, Norfolk)
A traditional style pale ale that is initially malty and delicately bittered, long dry biscuit finish. - Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2% ABV (Sheffield)
A full-bodied, straw pale ale, with a good fruity aroma and a strong fruit and hop taste. - Fullers ESB 5.5% ABV (London)
Tawny-coloured complex strong beer with bitter marmalade notes overlaid on hops and raisins. - Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9% ABV (Bakewell, Derbyshire)
Complex well-balanced IPA, citrus and fruit flavours, ending with a lingering bitter finish. - Woodfordes Headcracker 7.0% ABV (Woodbastwick, Norfolk)
Malty sweet-tasting tawny ale. - Green Jack Ripper Tripel 8.5% ABV (Lowestoft, Suffolk)
Multi award winning barley wine is dangerously drinkable, smooth yet well-hopped.
The Ciders
- Westons Old Rosie 7.3% ABV (Ledbury, Herefordshire)
A truly old fashioned, full flavoured, appley, cloudy scrumpy. - Westons Country Perry 4.5% ABV (Ledbury, Herefordshire)
A still medium perry matured in old oak vats, free of artificial colouring, flavouring or sweetening.
Entertainment
We will have live music on Saturday night from 8pm with Polaris, and on Sunday afternoon with The Rockin' Johnnies, 3pm - 7pm.
Food
As usual, there will be a BBQ available all sessions.
